Jilin Rime
Jilin Province is embosomed with mountains on four sides and three of it faces water, and the natural landscape is very fascinating, especially in winter according to Jilin travel guide. Jilin Rime together with mountains and rivers in Guilin, Yunnan Stone Forest and the Three Gorges are hailed as China's four major natural wonders. Yangshuo West Street Story

Yangshuo West Street is the oldest street in Yangshuo county with a time-honored history of more than 1400 years. But it is known for its terrific image of "The World Village", and "the home of modern human being", etc. Because this street is on the west side of the town of Yangshuo, so we call it West Street.
This ancient street of 1180 meters in length and 8 meters in width was built during Suikai Huang years (AD 590), and it was only 200 meters long and 5 meters wide at that time. In ancient times, this street only has several shops selling daily necessities and most of the residents are farmers. For 1000 years, this street is remaining the style of "half village, half stores", which makes West Street keep the traditional flavor and look of typical southern towns and villages and also forms double faces of city and village residents.

Since the early 1970s, Yangshuo was opened to the public. Many western tourists come to Yangshuo and find there is a charming street among those azure blue sky and crystal clear water after they toured Guilin Lijiang River which is the largest and most beautiful karst scenery in the world. Like Columbus having found the New Continent, western people are curious about West Street and write their impression on guidebooks published in the western countries. At the 1980s, a self-service tourist found Yangshuo West Street through the guidebook. Then western people who is always trapped in fast-paced work and city noisy find a harbor for taking a rest seemingly. After that, more and more tourists choose here for tour. Yangshuo West Street is the most densely populated street with western people. Every year, a western tourist who came here for a leisure tour is 3 times of Yangshuo residents. West Street is the biggest foreign language corner in China, what's more, it also has the highest rate of marriage with a foreigner in China. Hence, travel experts and scholars called this a "Yangshuo phenomenon on China Tourism" and China's "The World Village" attracting the attention of Chinese people and even the world. Meanwhile, it enriched Yangshuo with more exotic flavor.

Until 1974, one of China’s most significant archaeological discoveries lay hidden for two millennia. As archaeologists worked to unearth these historical relics, they found not one warrior, but an entire army consisting of thousands of clay soldiers. Even more miraculous is that each soldier is unique, having his own facial expressions while positioned according to their ranks.
Today, the warriors are mostly gray, but bright patches on their clothes hint that they were originally painted. Archaeologists have also unearthed weapons, including swords and arrow tips. Lining underground corridors, some soldiers reside alongside clay horses and wooden chariots.
The first emperor of China commissioned the world-renowned terracotta army, which is part of an elaborate mausoleum to guide him into the afterlife.

Ying Zheng, the Young Emperor
Ying Zheng was 13 years old when he took the throne in 246 B.C. By 221 B.C. he was credited with unifying several kingdoms at war, thus earning the name Qin Shi Huang Di, the First Emperor of Qin.
His regime also standardized coins, weights, and measures, interlinked China’s states using roads and canals and built the first version of the Great Wall.
History shows that the young emperor ordered the mausoleum’s construction after taking the throne. To accomplish this incredible task, more than 700,000 laborers worked on the detailed project, which stopped a year after his death.
Only four pits of soldiers are partially excavated. Three pits feature terracotta soldiers, weapons and horse-drawn chariots. The fourth pit remains empty, which shows that the project was never completed.
The total number of figures may never be known, but experts estimate that it contains as many as 8,000.

Qin's Unexcavated Tomb
The emperor’s tomb itself has not been excavated, but writings allude to treasures that are even more significant. One version of the translated text reads, “The tomb was filled with models of palaces, pavilions and offices as well as fine vessels, precious stones and rarities.”
Experts believe that the tomb contains replicas of China’s rivers and streams that were carved with mercury that flows to the sea through mountains and hills of bronze. The precious stones likely include pearls, which represent the moon, sun and stars.
Tests on the tomb mound show high concentrations of mercury, giving credibility to this theory. Using remote-sensing technology, archaeologists probed the tomb mound and believe there is an underground chamber that includes four stairlike walls.
Around the tomb, excavation reveals musicians, dancers and acrobats caught in mid-performance, but currently, further excavations on the tomb are temporarily on hold.
