A Tibet Entry Permit, also known as a Tibet visa, is a required document for any travelers entering Tibet. With a Tibet Travel Permit and China Visa, foreigners are allowed to enter Tibet. These two documents are to be shown when boarding any flight to and from Tibet.
A Tibet Entry Permit is officially issued by the Tibet Tourism Bureau to restrict the number of people entering Tibet so as to protect the environment and tourist resources in Tibet. The Tibet Travel Permit is only available through travel agencies and is unavailable for individual foreign travelers.
